end of soccer season

Ben had a great time playing soccer this fall. He learned a lot about a team sport & the game of soccer. He's not sure he wants to play soccer in the spring, as he & his Dad are becoming involved with motorcross. But he has expressed some interest in playing the game of football. Running into someone as hard as he can has an appeal to my Big Ben. I just don't have the heart to tell him that the other guy will do the same to him....ssshhh. He may just be the next Ben Roethlisberger, Quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's a BIG Ben, too. 6'5" & 241 pounds. (I did my research.)

He's experienced scoring goals, side aches, & getting smacked in the face with a ball. He was hit so hard with a kicked ball, in warm-up, that it left the stitching marks on the side of his face. After some tears & walk with Mama, he was ready to play the game.

He was so thrilled to "win" (remember they don't keep score) the last game & to get his trophy. The coach kept telling them how neat the trophy was. Ben asked if it was gold, and the coach said "yes, and marble too". Ben just focused on the gold & was so happy to get it.

On the way home, he was wondering how much gold would bring, and what he could get if he sold it !! He admitted that he wanted a new video game. What a thinker !
