What are you gonna do ?

That is a question I frequently hear, as I share with others that my youngest is starting kindergarten next week. I need to answer a question with a question......"what do YOU think I should do".

What is the expectation of a stay-at-home mom that sends her youngest to kindergarten ?

Many people assume that I will be returning to the work-force outside of the home. Some even going so far as to say that it's a waste of my degree in nursing not to return to work.

Never would I consider my education to be a waste. It's a part of what has made me become the woman that I am.

Others think that we got a puppy, so that I'll have something to do.

Honestly, I plan to continue to be a wife and mother. There is never a lack of anything "to-do". This is considered a very important "profession", and especially pleasing in the eyes of my Heavenly Father.

Recently, I've taken on my somewhat "snarky" attitude in response to questions of my next move. As if playing a game of chess. Even to the most well meaning & loving of family & friends. I just tell them, "I'm going to do nothing".

That answer is usually met with silence or a laugh. I have never been known to do nothing. I'm just not that kind of girl. In fact, I am often too busy, to know when to be still.

Maybe.......that's why God has entrusted me to be the "B keeper".

So true, so true. I went through the same thing when Colin went to K. I quickly found out that there is sooo much to do even without children at home. I LOVE being a stay at home mom!
